Hire Your Own Surf Photographer!

When pro surfers travel, they bring a photographer. Why can't you?!? Whether local here in San Diego, CA, visiting or jumping on a plane for the ultimate surf trip, I'm available to capture every minute of stoke.

During a private session I will capture you (and your surf crew) from in the water, on land or a mix of both. Photos from in water definitely deliver the most dramatic and unique perspectives. All my photos are taken with professional camera equipment in full color/ high-resolution.

All photo session rates include the time it takes to go through the footage afterwards- to edit the photos and videos I capture and provide them to you in a private website gallery. You can download all the photos from the gallery, share them with friends, organize your favorites and also order professional prints, canvas and metal wall art!

FAQ

How do you photograph surfing?

with a camera of course, lol.

On Land -
with a 400mm telephoto lens I can see 8x magnification of an object. I like to get different angles- on the beach, on a pier or on any cliffs/rocks. I can typically stand knee deep in the water to capture photos depending on the current and tide.

In the Water -
I have water housings for my cameras to keep them waterproof, a set of fins and the will to get the best shots without getting a board to the face. Plus, it helps that I'm a good swimmer :D

Video -
My camera does shoot video although I prioritize photos. I keep a GoPro attached to the top of my waterhousing for video recording. I can also fly a drone out to follow you surf.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in San Diego, CA (USA) and yes I love to travel! Locally, I'm open to shoot Southern California and Northern Baja Mexico (with SENTRI to cross the border quick). I make annual trips to Hawaii to shoot big waves and La Ventana, B.C.S., Mexico to shoot kite surfers every winter.

If you want me to photograph your story elsewhere, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But no worries, I always try to find the cheapest way to travel because I love shooting new locations.

When will I get my photos?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within a week (usually less depending on my schedule). You can download all the photos from the gallery, share them with friends, choose your favorites and also order professional prints, canvas and metal wall art!

How many pictures will I receive?

For an hour session you will receive between 25 to 100 fully edited images. I always choose quality rather than quantity when editing photos but I can also make non-edited photos available, which is typically 500+ photos.
